At Bloom, we specialize in Gender & Sexuality Expansive Psychotherapy for Adults (Individuals and Couples/Intimate Partners), Children, Tweens, & Adolescents of Color.

We are a LGBTQ+ and sex-positive affirming practice, and we understand that our society is set up in such a way that certain people are valued more than others. Those people that are valued more benefit from certain privileges. Our therapists work from an anti-oppressive, anti-racist, & intersectional foundation. Using a psychodynamic approach, we believe our past experiences impact the choices we make in the present. In order to get to the root of an issue, we need to explore ourselves at our own paces. 

Other modalities & approaches throughout the work we do together include narrative, relational, as well as elements of mindfulness therapies. Ultimately, we work together to find what works best for you.

We recognize you are the expert in your own life, & treat you as such. We follow your lead from session to session on what to explore. Even if it feels like what you are bringing in on a specific day is not connected to your main purpose of being in therapy, our therapists believe that all parts of ourselves & what we experience are connected. The more we explore & understand ourselves, the more connections we are able to make between the various parts of who we are & how we feel, think, & act, as well as change the things that no longer serve us.
